In September 1993, KIDY aired the ABC drama NYPD Blue, in place of its ABC affiliate station KTXS-TV which also lead a decision caused a backlash from the Christian Coalition, which threatened a boycott of KIDY's advertisers, after a month, the station removed the show.
1998–2007
In 2001, the Abilene translator station KIDZ-LD disaffiliated from Fox and they moved to its new station KXVA, a similar logo was also used by the station starting from its 2001 launch until 2007.
