The Bullitts sold their broadcasting assets to the Providence Journal Company in 1992, and was later acquired by Belo in 1997.
The "-TV" suffix was omitted in 1994, long after its radio sister stations were sold to different owners.
KGW revealed a new logo in June 2014, as well as adopting Gannett's corporate graphics. The station refers itself to simply as "KGW" with the newscast title changed to "KGW News."
