This Microgramma "5" survived a callsign change. It was also used by KOCO-TV, KRGV-TV, WCSC-TV, WEWS-TV, and WFRV-TV.

On December 1, 1975, the American Family Insurance Corporation transferred ownership of WLAC-TV to the Houston-based H&C Communications Company (owned by the Hobby family) and changed the station's call letters to WTVF, a call sign previously used by two separate stations in Buffalo, New York on channels 23 (see WNLO) & 29 (see WUTV).

NewsChannel 5 Network

Landmark attempted to sell WTVF to Bonten Media Group in 2008, but was aborted due to the economic crisis of 2008. Milwaukee-based Journal Communications then bought WTVF from Landmark in 2012. Journal's broadcast holdings were then sold to The E.W. Scripps Company on 2016.
