Nexstar Media Group sold KASW to The E. W. Scripps Company, and became a sister station to ABC affiliate KNXV-TV and changed its logo and branding to "CW 61 Arizona" on September 19, 2019.

November 20th, 2023

On November 16, 2023, the E.W. Scripps Company announced that KASW would have its CW affiliation moved to KNXV-TV's second subchannel effective November 20 and would become independent. KASW will become the full-time home of the Arizona Coyotes. The logo is similar to other Scripps stations and subchannels that switched to independence after the launch of Scripps Sports.
