SkyCable started operating its community antenna television system in the Philippines on January 26, 1992, providing cable Internet, VoIP services and digital cable TV service.

The cable TV network would, over the course of the next two decades, acquire a number of smaller cable TV networks and even two former rivals Sun Cable and Home Cable. For the latter, Sky and Home would be brought under Beyond Cable, which between 2001 and 2008 was jointly owned by Benpres and MediaQuest before the latter exited the venture as it became part of ABS-CBN Corporation.

Aside from direct cable rivals, the network also competed with satellite TV networks like Dream Satellite TV (defunct as of 2017), Cignal, and G Sat.

On May 2012, SkyCable bought out another rival Destiny Cable.

In 2016, Sky expanded to direct-to-home satellite TV via Sky Direct to compete with Cignal; the network was shut down during the non-renewal of ABS-CBN's broadcast franchise in mid-2020, but would be revived in 2025 with the Sky-Converge partnership.

On March 16, 2023, PLDT announced that it had entered into a sale and purchase agreement to acquire 100% of Sky Cable Corporation from Sky Vision Corporation, ABS-CBN Corporation and Lopez Inc. for ₱6.75 billion. The acquisition would cover Sky's broadband business and related assets, and would have led to the shut down of Sky's pay TV and cable businesses. While the Philippine Competition Commission allowed the transaction to proceed on January 22, 2024 and thereafter Sky announced that it would discontinue its cable TV operations effective February 27, and on February 22, when ABS-CBN and PLDT canceled the sale, resulting in the network continuing operations beyond February 27.

Eventually, the company would partner with Converge for use of its fiber infrastructure for its network. The partnership would birth the Sky TV IPTV service (bundling Converge FiberX internet with Sky Cable channels), and revive Sky Direct (which had shut down amid the non-renewal of ABS-CBN's broadcast franchise in mid-2020), now operated by Converge affiliate Reliance Broadcasting Unlimited.
