Google Play Developer Console was released in September 2013.

On September 1, 2015, Developer Console had received a slight redesign.
2016–2022
In April 2016, when Android Nougat was under development, a brand-new logo was released for Developer Console, and it looked like the iconic Play button, to coincide with the development of Android Nougat. The name was later shortened to Google Play Console in 2020.

On August 25, 2025, Android announced that they would be adding new security measures for verifying app certificates and developers. With these changes came the announcement of the rebrand of Google Play Console to Android Developer Console.[1]
