In 2000, Bell Atlantic acquired GTE Corporation, and both merged to become Verizon Communications, or simply Verizon. On June 26, 2024, alongside the reintroduction of the "Can You Hear Me Now" campaign, Verizon modified their 2015 wordmark, removing the checkmark and changing the text to red. The modified V now resembles a folded ribbon with a glowing yellow inner edge.
