While the system was code-named Nintendo NX during development, the debut trailer for Sonic Forces showed the first and only official placeholder logo that was released for it. It's similar in style to the Wii, Mii and 2012 Nintendo eShop logos.

The console was unveiled in a video released by Nintendo on October 20, 2016, along with its official logo and name, the Nintendo Switch. The console was released on March 3, 2017. This logo is used for the Nintendo Switch brand to represent the models HAC-001 and HAC-001(-01).

On April 26, 2019, Nintendo and Tencent officially announced that the console would be released in mainland China, distributed by Tencent. Following the launch of its successor, the Nintendo Switch 2, the original console remains in production with ongoing hardware and software support.

The Nintendo Switch Lite was released on September 20, 2019, following its announcement on July 10, 2019.

Nintendo Switch OLED Model

Switch OLED

The Nintendo Switch OLED Model was released on October 8, 2021, worldwide, following its announcement on July 6, 2021. It was also released in mainland China on January 11, 2022, by Tencent, instead of iQue.
