Sonic Crackers was a very early Mega Drive/Genesis prototype of Knuckles' Chaotix, dated on April 1, 1994 with title screen logo displayed as ASCII-art. The build's ROM header also referred to it as "Sonic Studium". It is believed that the title is misromanization of "Sonic Clackers", referring to the game's main mechanic based on "Clackers" toy.

The final logo was present in the "1207" prototype build with a compile date of December 7, 1994, while the game's Japanese print logo debuted during the game's regional release on April 21, 1995.
While Sega mainly used this logo in Japan, it was also seen in European video game magazines and on Mega Drive 32X bundle packages sold around summer 1995.[3][4]
Shortly after the Winter CES 1995 event, the game was renamed Knuckles' Chaotix for the international market. This logo was later used when the game was included at the GameTap subscription service in 2005.
As Knuckles' Chaotix was released in Europe and Australia, it used the Japanese logo mixed with "KNUCKLES'" wordmark from North American/Brazilian logo.
