2008–2009
Hedgehog Engine was the proprietary game engine developed by Sonic Team for Sonic the Hedgehog video games, beginning with Sonic Unleashed in 2008. The engine was at its development stage since 2005.[1][2] With the game engine being used up until Sonic Generations remaster at Sonic X Shadow Generations in 2024, the logo wasn't present in any of further video game releases since its introduction.
A successor game engine named Hedgehog Engine 2, first conceived for Sonic Forces and first used on Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in 2016, doesn't use any logo.
