The oneworld airline alliance was founded by American Airlines, British Airways, Canadian Airlines (acquired by Air Canada in 1999 and shuttered in 2001), Cathay Pacific and Qantas in 1999. The alliance primarily competes with the Star Alliance and SkyTeam. Following the inclusion of Alaska Airlines in 2021, the suspension of S7 Airlines in 2022 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the inclusion of Fiji Airways and Oman Air in 2025, and most recently, the inclusion of Hawaiian Airlines in 2026. The alliance holds 16 full members and one upcoming member, Starlux Airlines.
