HK Express is a low-cost carrier in Hong Kong. Since 2019, it has been owned by Cathay Pacific, the flag carrier of the city. Before then, it was owned by the HNA Group, which owns its competitor, Hong Kong Airlines.
The airline was launched in 2004 as Hong Kong Express and rebranded as HK Express in 2013. In 2016, it became a founding member of the U-FLY Alliance, but it left in 2019 after it became a partner of Cathay Pacific, a member of oneworld.

In 2013, Hong Kong Express announced its transition to a low-cost carrier with an Airbus fleet and rebranded as HK Express.
The financially-struggling HNA Group sold it to Cathay Pacific in 2019, making it a sister airline to Cathay Pacific and the now-defunct Cathay Dragon.
