Sainsbury’s Saver Card

1993–1996

Saver Card was a loyalty card introduced by Sainsbury's in the 1993 in response to Tesco's 'Clubcard' loyalty card. Each card was only valid in one specific branch, and not all branches introduced the Saver Card scheme.

Sainsbury’s Reward Card

1996–1999

In June 1996, Sainsbury's launched its nationwide loyalty card known as Reward Card, replacing the Saver Card.

1999–2002

In 1999, Sainsbury’s changed their logo which also enacted onto the reward cards.

2002–2007

Nectar cards were introduced in 2002 as a joint loyalty card scheme by Sainsbury's, Debenhams, Barclaycard, and BP. Since then, additional companies have joined the scheme. In Sainsbury's, it replaced the earlier Reward Card loyalty scheme.

2007–2019

2019–present

On October 2, 2019, Nectar changed to a predominately app-based system and modernized their logo.
