In 2014, LG introduced its first webOS-based smart TV, replacing its older smart TV platform called NetCast but they continued to use its old platform on entry level smart TVs until 2016.

In 2021, LG started to license its webOS TV platform to other TV manufacturers such as Aiwa and RCA (US only, produced under Curtis International). Hence the introduction of "Powered by webOS TV" logo.
