Following the 1996 merger of Fosseys with Target Australia Pty Ltd, stores consolidated and rebranded as Target Country in 1999, and were completed in 2001. Some stores were rebranded as smaller Target stores in 2014.

In August 2020, Wesfarmers introduced K hub as a replacement for Target Country.
