eNCA is the first and largest 24-hour English news channel in South Africa. Launched by eMedia Holdings in 2008 as eNews Channel and renamed to eNCA in 2012, it is a sister channel to e.tv, the country’s first and only privately-owned free-to-air TV channel.
Within South Africa, it is available exclusively on the paid DStv platform, and not on eMedia Holdings’ free-to-air TV platform OpenView, on which the broadcaster has a different news channel, e.tv news & sport.
eNews Channel

The eNews Channel was launched in June 2008 as the first 24-hour English news channel in South Africa.
eNCA
2012–2014

|
eNews Channel was renamed to eNCA on 19 August 2012 and introduced a new logo with triangles making up a shape of the African continent. The two red triangles at the bottom of the logo represent the channel’s South African origins.
2014–2018

|
On 1 September 2014, the logo was simplified, and the triangles were removed. The font of the text NCA was changed to Gotham.
2018–2023
|

|
On 16 July 2018, a few weeks after eNCA’s tenth anniversary, the African silhouette was removed.
2023–present

The channel rebranded on 1 May 2023.
