Since late 2013, it dropped the wordmark in favor of the WD logomark for the consumer internal and external storage drives but it kept the full logo as a corporate logo until 2017. The original blue variant of the WD logomark was used on most consumer products until 2019.

Western Digital 2017

To reflect their acquisition of SanDisk back in 2016, Western Digital changed its logo. The logo was later implemented to their products: first on its professional and enterprise drives in late 2017, and consumer internal HDD and SSD drives in 2019, and also appeared on WD BLACK series internal drives.

In 2019, the WD logo changed its color from blue to orange. It is presently used only on all of WD-branded external HDD and SSD drives while most consumer internal HDD and SSD drives will mostly use the 2017–2026 Western Digital logo.
