2003–2012

HGST was founded when IBM sold its storage division to Hitachi in 2003.
Hitachi logo, being used on their products until its acquisition by Western Digital in 2012.
2012–2015

When Western Digital bought HGST in 2012, the logo was changed. This logo was used on its products, replacing the Hitachi wordmark.
2015–2018

HGST redesigned its logo once again in 2015. Western Digital started phasing out HGST in 2018. Some of HGST's products such as Ultrastar were carried over to Western Digital's family of enterprise hard disk drives, while the rest such as Deskstar line of consumer drives are being discontinued or merged to its existing products.
