Thomson followed TUI's rebrand in June 2002, as well as Lunn Poly. This came after TUI acquired the Thomson Travel Group in 2000.
Between 2004 and 2005, all of TUI's UK subsidiaries were rebranded under the Thomson name. In 2007, Thomson acquired First Choice, and by 2011, rebranded the latter's shops with Thomson branding, albeit retaining a vestige of First Choice branding on signage.

On 16 October 2017, it announced that Thomson has officially changed their name to TUI, as part of a company-wide rebranding exercise.
