Talkback is a British television production company and the comedy and light entertainment unit, part of Fremantle (formerly FremantleMedia).

In 2000, Talkback was acquired by Pearson Television. At the same time, the logo was altered so that it was formed entirely in lowercase. In 2001, Pearson became part of the RTL Group who renamed the UK television production unit, FremantleMedia.

In February 2003, FremantleMedia merged Talkback with Thames forming Talkback Thames. The existing companies retained separate identities on most programmes until October 2006.

2012–2018
In January 2012, FremantleMedia split Talkback Thames into four companies: Talkback for comedy, Thames for home entertainment, Boundless for factual and Retort for entertainment and indies.

2018–2025
In 2018, FremantleMedia UK rebranded to simply Fremantle UK. A rebranding of the production divisions soon followed with Talkback receiving a logo inspired by the original design from 1984 whilst retaining the green colour the company has been associated with since 2003. On September 16, 2024, Fremantle UK announced the re-merging of Thames and Talkback to form Talkback Thames, with the merger commencing sometime in 2025.
