On 30 June 1995, ABC-3 Canberra moved frequencies to VHF-9. The VHF-3 signal would remain on air for five weeks before being switched off on 6 August. This change of frequency was done to open up community FM frequencies in Canberra and surrounds, and to start up ABC FM services in Goulburn.
