On October 8. 1997, a frequency swap with talk radio station KCMO gave WHB (which relocated WHB on 710 AM, the former location of KCMO which relocated to 810 AM) one of the largest daytime coverage areas in the Midwest at the time, providing at least secondary coverage to almost half of Missouri, almost half of Kansas (as far west as the suburbs of Wichita), along with large slices of Nebraska and Iowa.
