In 1995, Upjohn merged with Pharmacia to form Pharmacia & Upjohn, a company which would later be bought by Pfizer.

The U-sun symbol was designed by Larry L. Fites of Upjohn's Creative Development and Design Unit in 1974 or earlier.
2015–2020 (division of Pfizer)
In 2015, Pfizer revived the Upjohn name for a division of the company which was in charge of manufacturing and licensing drugs for which patents have expired. In 2020, the division was merged with Mylan to form Viatris.
