TWW and Teledu Cymru stopped broadcasting in the early hours of March 4th, 1968, five months before its contract was due to expire, while selling its airtime to Harlech Television.

In later hours of March 4th, 1968, the Independent Television Service for Wales & the West interim service operated by TWW staff was launched by the Independent Television Authority because Harlech was not ready to launch its services. ITSWW was replaced by the new franchisee on May 20th.
