In 1988, Memorex acquired Telex Corporation and renamed itself to Memorex Telex, re-establishing itself in the Netherlands. A new logo was introduced with the merger, which was used on computer hardware products alongside the one introduced in 1981, which continued to be used for audio products. The hearing aid division of the original Telex meanwhile was spun off into its own company, Telex Communications.
