In 1993, Future Zone bought all of the Virgin Game Centre stores apart from the one at Oxford Street.

Future Zone

1992–1995

Future Zone was the main retail chain of the Rhino Group, founded in 1992 by Terry Norris and Bev Ripley.

Electronics Boutique

1995–2002

Electronics Boutique would acquire a controlling stake in Future Zone's parent company, the Rhino Group, in 1995, and to signify this, the chain was rebranded after its new owners that same year.

1990–2002

Game was founded in 1990 by Neil Taylor and Peter Wickins.

In 1999, Electronics Boutique bought Game; Both of the brands co-existed until in 2002, all Electronics Boutique shops in the UK and Ireland were rebranded "GAME".

2002–present

A modified logo was introduced in 2002, rounding off various parts of the lettering.

In 2007, Game acquired its main competitor Gamestation from Blockbuster; Both of the brands co-existed until late 2012, where after being acquired by investment firm OpCapita (which also owned Comet at the time), most Gamestation locations were rebranded under the Game brand.

In 2019, Sports Direct acquired Game, resulting in Game-branded concessions opening within numerous Sports Direct and House of Fraser stores.
