In 2018, the original APU based Athlon and Sempron were discontinued as the Athlon brand would be reused for an entry level Zen-based APUs.
Athlon with Radeon Graphics (Zen-based)
2018–present
In 2018, AMD revived the Athlon brand as an entry level processor with integrated graphics based on the Zen microarchitecture to compete with Celeron and Pentium processors, and to replace the AMD A4 and A6 line of APUs. This logo complements the Ryzen family of CPUs, hence the wordmark.
In 2019, AMD introduced the Athlon Silver and Athlon Gold series and it will be used commonly on entry level laptops.
