Norwegian music investment company Aspiro formed Tidal in 2014. Aspiro was acquired by Project Panther Bidco in 2015 for USD $56.2 million.[1]
Mobile phone company Sprint acquired 33% of the streaming service in 2017.[2]
On March 2, 2021, Square, Inc. reached an agreement to acquire majority ownership of Tidal.[3]
