On the first 3 years after Emissora Nacional changed to RDP, the Portuguese designer João Celorico proposed this logo but it was never officially used by the broadcaster. Until 1979, on advertising, instead of a logo, was used the name Rádiodifusão Portuguesa, E.P., but without any specified font.
After RTP's renaming to Radio e Televisão de Portugal in March 2004, a new logo, exactly the same as RTP's, was adopted.
