Funimation

Funimation was an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service that was acquired by Sony Pictures Entertainment, and dissolved in 2024.

2016–2020

In January 2016, Funimation LLC announced the launch of their streaming platform known as "FunimationNow".

2020–2024

In 2020, Funimation LLC rebranded their streaming platform as "Funimation".

On March 1, 2022, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex announced that Funimation brand would be discontinued and its library, assets, name, etc. will merge into Crunchyroll, though the platform will be still operational.

On February 7, 2024, Crunchyroll LLC announced the discontinuation of the Funimation streaming platform, which went offline as scheduled on April 2, 2024.
