In 1973, when Fila became a global sportswear brand and expanded into tennis, the F-box was created to replace their old globe logo, which was created when they were still a knitwear company. A custom font based on the logo was used on some products and ads, like for their Sportime and Aquatime watches. A trapezoid version was also used on Grant Hill's sneaker line, like on the Grant Hill 2, and on other products in the 1990s.
