Bankia was a Spanish banking conglomerate, formed under the temporary name Banco Financiero y de Ahorros in December 2010. The foundation of this bank was to consolidate the operations of seven regional savings banks into the first Spanish bank with national scope.
In March 2011, a new identity for the bank was revealed. Interbrand was involved in all aspects of the corporate identity, including choosing a name and creating a visual profile.
